Alta Via Info h24
The environment and future generations will be grateful if, as far as possible, you will avoid or reduce the purchase and consumption of food and products packaged in plastic and the use of disposable tableware. Thanks.
We advise hikers and cyclists who intend to travel on the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri to check, directly with them, the opening and availability of the numerous accommodation facilities along the on foot and by mountain bike trails. If any doubt, call Alta Via InfoH24 +39. 338. 16 29 347
In the section ending at Mount Saccarello, not far from the Redentore statue, in addition to the unattended Rifugio Sanremo, is now available the La Terza private refuge, which offers accommodation, food, water and drinks.
Those who walk or ride their mountain bike on the Alta Via are suggested to always carry a proper GPS or, alternatively, download an application on their mobile phone that allows them to know and communicate their position (latitude and longitude) in case of need. One of these, free of charge, is GPS coordinates.
Not all accommodation facilities accept electronic payments: make sure that you bring enough cash or check (refer to “services” button in each section) where an ATM (cash dispenser) is available.
With particular reference to large groups, it should be noted that the accommodation facilities on the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri are also made up of small hotels, refuges, farmhouses, bed & breakfasts and / or other types of accommodation. Some of these may offer beds in shared dormitories and shared facilities. It may also be necessary to have your own sleeping bag and towel available.
We always suggest to ask details to the keeper / owner of the facility.
For groups and upon advance request we can provide luggage transport from one accommodation facility to the next.
The mtb trail described in the mountain bike section of this guide is completely rideable on your bicycle and does not require particular technical skills or portage. It includes some stretches of asphalt but on low traffic roads. Some stretches of dirt roads and paths can be stony and uneven. Mind the important positive and negative differences in height: the numerous accommodation facilities along the route (where it is also possible to recharge the batteries of one's e-bikes), however, allow each cyclist to plan the distance of the daily stages according to their phisical training. The guide also indicates, in addition to much more, the water points; some of these are made up of uncontrolled sources: check their potability.

Important: on the regional trains of the Ligurian service contract (from Ventimiglia to La Spezia or vice versa) the transport of bicycles is free of any charge. Better information at the railway information centres.
Attention: in summer, due to tourist overcrowding on the Cinque Terre route - between La Spezia and Levanto - bicycle transport may be subject to limitations.

We can offer bike rental along the entire route of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri, or deliver them to the accommodation, with collection also in other locations, to allow an itinerant route.
With the bikes in tow we provide a shuttle service for approach and return, as well as for assistance to groups.
We supply high-end full E-MTBs equipped with kits for any small repairs and puncture-proof tyres.
The organized tours are accompanied by AltaViaInfoH24 guides and, where possible, we rely on the Ospitalità Alta Via structures on the site.

For the sake of completeness, it should be noted that, on both the footpath and on the mountain bike route, are available a number of other accommodation facilities that have preferred not to participate in this project: where necessary, some of these have been included with a single code reference. You can obtain information about these by contacting Alta Via Info H24 +39. 338. 16 29 347 or email ospitalita.altavia@gmail.com
The modest cost of your subscription will help us to keep this guide alive and up-to-date. This is why we ask you to help us to spread its knowledge and not share or give to others the track of the mountain bike route published here. Thanks.
