Luggage transport and guided tours
For a better organisation of your trekking and your mountain bike tour, we advise you to call the accommodation facilities at least one day in advance, to check - especially during the high season - if they are open and if they have available beds. On request, most of the accommodations that are not exactly on the route offer a shuttle service at a minimal cost to / from the Alta Via for those who walk.
On the cartography page there is a list of the maps of the Istituto Geografico Centrale of Torino, currently available online, relating to the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri.
Before departure, we recommend that you:
1) take note of our free no-stop phone number +39. 338. 16 29 347 available every day (including holidays) and at any time; by calling this number you will get in touch with Claudio Simonetti (author of the guide) and you will be able to receive information and assistance; if you are on the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri and do not remember the number, pay attention to the many Alta Via Info H24 white notice labels placed along the entire itinerary
2) download any application that allows you to know your exact position (north latitude, east longitude) on your smartphone. In this way you can always indicate your position during the trek and, case need, you can help us to provide you with adequate information. In extreme cases, you can communicate this location to the emergency number 112.

If you intend to travel the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri and you need information on the route, rely on the online guide because only in this way will you be able, compared to a paper guide, to always have up-to-date information.
The guide offers not only the version of the on foot trail, but also a separate version that describes a mountain bike route that can be traveled on your bike all the way to the end (no portage).
The itinerary of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri from Ventimiglia (IM) to Ceparana (SP) has been divided for convenience into 15 stages for those traveling on foot and 7 stages for those traveling by mountain bike. The division into sections is exclusively geographical: the sections do not correspond to the daily stages, everyone can adapt the route to their own needs and physical abilities.
In both versions of the guide, only the first section is accessible to evaluate its contents: a subscription is required to access the others. The subscription has a cost of 10 euros and is valid for one year, WITHOUT automatic renewal, and allows full access to the two versions, on foot and by mountain bike trails.
Each section offers the following information:
Itinerary
Accommodation
Water
Shelters
Restaurants
Services
The services section includes shops, shuttle services, public transport, ATMs (cash dispensers), shelter and food for horses and donkeys, bicycle shelters and repair equipment, nearest towns and cities.
Other information
For groups and upon request we can provide luggage transport from one accommodation facility to another.
We have the possibility to organize guided tours with environmental and mountain bike guides.
The environment and future generations will be grateful if, at the best of your possibilities, you avoid or reduce the consumption of food and drinks packaged in plastic containers and do not use disposable tableware.
Thank you!
We try to keep this guide always updated also thanks to the reports of hikers and bikers: in this respect do not hesitate to contribute to the updates by reporting to Claudio / mail ospitalita.altavia@gmail.com any deficiencies, omissions or errors you encountered during your journey..
It will be a pleasure for Claudio to meet you, if you have the opportunity to pass through or stay overnight in his B&B Casa Torre www.casatorre.info at the end of the Passo della Bocchetta (heights of Genova) stage for those who walk, or at the end of Section 4 for those who travel the route by mountain bike.
We wish you a good trip on the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri.
